Anticipating and Pre-empting Competitors

Looking at many brand case studies, it is common to see that insufficient effort was put into anticipating competitor threats, and taking relevant action based on these threats.

This is surprising when you consider that it can take 12 years to bring a brand to market, and so there is plenty of time to watch the development of any potential competitor as it goes through its own clinical development plan, the outcomes of which are heralded throughout the major (and minor) congresses.

GalbraithWight consulting services, tools & processes in Anticipating & Pre-empting Competitors help companies accurately identify key competitive threats, gain real insight into the most likely scenarios of positioning & tactics of competitor brands & companies. We then help our Clients develop highly effective & robust strategies to fend off these competitor threats which can be effectively implemented at the right time. This results in a robust competitive defence for our Client’s brands.

Anticipating & pre-empting competitors services include:

‘War Games’ Scenario Planning
For your brand, we focus specifically on the one or two most important competitors. We research these thoroughly to fully understand their likely positioning and value proposition. We run workshops with your team to develop the case for the competitor brand, to a high level of detail.

Working together we then evaluate the impact of this competitor plan on your brand. Once this is complete we work together to develop the response for your brand, and evaluate the impact of this response.

A further iteration of competitor response can be built in, followed by a further refining of your plan.

Your team ends up with a fully elucidated & documented competitor anticipation & response plan, with timings & responsibilities, to ensure you take all the necessary steps to protect your business.

In addition you will have given your team a valuable process and set of tools to run this process in the future.
